One day, TJ McGuire hit me up on facebook to ask if he could interview me for his website called Carolina's Finest. It highlights some of the Carolina's own talented artist. I remembered TJ from college at WSSU but we never really had a chance to sit down and have a conversation. I was really honored that he made such a request because I didn't think I had much experience yet. Luckily, most of what I had done airs in North Carolina, so it allows my old friends get to see what I'm up to. One of the best things about having TJ interview me was that we got a chance to get to know each other and we have become very good friends since then.
TJ allowed me to choose the location, so I chose Freedom Park. The park is a place where I've always gone to relax, run, bike ride, sun bath, read a book, and listen to music. During the years I lived in NYC, I spend lots of time at Central Park enjoying the fresh air and trees. I needed a place to get away from all the concrete and tall buildings. Central Park was a way for me to experience some of what I missed about the south; nature. TJ also allowed me to pick my own music and provide all the childhood photos and acting work I had done over the past two years.
The interview was so beautifully shot. And after sharing the interview with my closest friends t, they all told me that it really highlighted my personality and just how I am naturally. I was so happy with the results. I am forever grateful to TJ for seeing the light that shines through my soul and honoring me in such a beautiful way.
